Cycling Refrigerant Dryers

Cycling Refrigerant Installing a refrigeration dryer avoids costly consequences of water in compressed air damage to tools and instruments, corrosion, air leaks, pressure drop, product spoilage, production downtime and wasted energy.
The FT series goes a step further. With its unique energy-saving "TTS" technology, it combines respect for the enviroment with the opportunity for significant reductions in running costs compared to a conventional refrigeration type dryer.

Construction Characteristics

Casing
Made from sheet steel panels wich have been phosphated, degreased and polyester powder painted. The panels are not structural elements and are easily removable for service.

Heat Exchanger
The evaporator and the air-to-air heat exchanger (model 009 and above) comprise a single coil with copper tubes and aluminium fins. This makes for an extremely compact and rugged construction. The whole assembly is insulated with high density flameproof polystyrene. The lack of any components subject to particular pressure vessel codes means that the standard model can be used anywhere in the world.

Condenser
Air-cooled by an electric fan fitted with a safety grille. Comprises a painted tubeless steel coil up to model F12T and with copper tubes and aluminium fins for the rest of the range. The location of the condenser in the top section of the dryer ensures it stays cleaner and more efficient for longer.

Refrigerant Compressor
Hermetic, suction gas cooled and protected against thermal and current overloads. The compressor is mounted on anti-vibration rubber supports to ensure quiet running.

Condensate Drain System
The condensate is seperated in a high efficiency stainless steel mesh "demister". Solenoid or optional no-loss capacitance drain.

All dryers in the F-T series feature electronic controls including:
  • Graphic display
  • ON/OFF Switch
  • Dewpoint temperature measurement
  • Push-button for setpoint programming and drain test
  • LED indicators for power on, energy-saving mode, high dewpoint, control fault and sensor point
  • Condensate drain operation.
  • Additional features of the extended eletronic control system fitted to models F80T to F375T include:
  • Mains isolator
  • "Bargraph" dewpoint display
  • Two additional push-buttons for programming a greater range of functions eg, dewpoint alarm, drain frequenct, etc.
  • Additional LED indicators for high and low refrigerant pressure alarms, drain stystem status and generic user alarm
  • Contacts for remote alarm signalling.
